the Beginnings of my Craft Room

It doesnt look like I have done very much. Believe me I have! But I have a long way to go. I have decided to start sewing some of my projects instead of doing them all by hand. so I was able to set up a sewing table..as you may be able to see. Anyway, I have too much stuff and not enough room. But if I can organize well, it should do me well.

my weekend

I once again "tore up" my sewing/guest room. I have to get all the shelves, and table organized..and so I just took my supplies, etc and put them on my day bed. Put one of my bookshelves in between my kitchen and living room..so it has given me room to put a long table on one wall in my sewing room. It will hold my sewing machine, etc. I am finally beginning to put supplies on shelves..have all the shelves in their final stop! I made a shelf I had bought at Michaels. Michaels has this awesome looking desk/ shelves set you can buy..I have bought the ribbon and shelf holder thing. and then one large shelf with six cubbies. I thought I would do the whole room with these sections from Michaels..but it is not worth the price..even getting them with my discount coupons. JUst FYI..it is a lot of sectionals you can use in different ways, including a desk...but, of course it is the pressed wood..and really flimsy. I would just begin putting a screw in and the board would come off the shelf. So I decide to use my table, instead of getting the sectional desk. I like the different pieces..but now am afraid they will fall apart..so will got with my shelves from WalMart..the white section ones..I really like those, and know they will hold a lot, and not fall apart..well..after all that I sat and watched Dear John..great little romantic movie..and Invictus..great movie..I was really tired, after all that..watered all my plants outside..grabbed a book I am reading, and went to bed and read a while, before turning the light out for the night. Today is a new day..am dog sitting my grand dog right now...then will go home, and work some more on my sewing room..will take apix as to how I am doing on it..hope I can make it look a little organiZed today. I have been trying to think of my color schemes..think I may go with yellow...will be nice and bright for the cold days of winter. So will watch a little CNN now, while waiting for my daughter to come get my grand dog..by the way his name is Favor..he is a foxhound..a very kind and loving dog..will have to get a pix of him for this blog.

July 6, 2010

Well if you will scroll down a bit you can see how my little "gardens" have grown over the past two months. I have so many wonderful herbs, that just keep growing as I cut and use them. I have many cucumber plants laden with blossoms which should shortly grow into cucumbers. Lots of marigolds and impatients! I have enjoyed my gardens a lot..In fact I won first place for the best looking patio in our apartment housing this year!!!
Now to the dolls. Here are a couple of new ones I hope you will enjoy. I am finishing up two of them to send to doll swap partners..one in Oregon, and the other in South America. They will be sending me dolls also..so will put the pictures on here once I get them..I am very excited.

Summertime!

I just love summer. this year I have been able to plant flowers, herbs, and a few vegetables, as you can see in the pictures. I have not had so much great energy in years. My neurologist I have had for three years has finally got the right meds, and conditions, and diseases for me. So now I can manage well..exercise, and do things like gardening, I havent done in many years. I like sitting on my porch in the early morning hours,or the late evening hours, and just soak in the sound of peacefulness all round me. I have great neighbors, and they too love my little garden.
Now to my new dolls. this one is Minnie Anne. She is such an easy doll to make. the pattern designer is Raggedy Pants. I like her patterns. The dress was only two pieces, a front and back. She wears cute muslin bloomers. If you would like to have her, go to gransatticannies.com, and she is waiting for you! I only have one of her.

mother nature

one really never knows what Mother Nature will reaally do. Yesterday, there were several dangerous tornadoes that set down in our area of Oklahoma. My daughter, has a horse farm...and after the passing of the major tornadoes..she called and said her farm was hit..all the horse sheds were gone...and two of her horses were injured, but not badly. She works so hard on her little farm, and for this to happen, and have to start building all over again, is going to be so terribly hard on her. I dont know what she will do. Prays are our only answers. So I have sat and handstitched these little birds that I will finish and put on my website to sell.

My Birds

My Birds
finished birds..I added a beak, and put them on a garden stick..how cute they are among my plants
